How should I store honey?
Store honey in a cool dry place (at room temperature).
Is this honey raw?
Yes, our honey is Raw and unfiltered, it is only strained to remove any impurities.
What are the ingredients for Dozen Jars Mayan Honey?
Only Honey. It is 100% pure natural honey, nothing else added.
Why does honey crystallize?
Pure raw honey has a natural tendency to crystallize over time. Honey crystallization often referred as granulation is a natural phenomenon by which honey turns from a liquid to a semi-solid state. This has no effect over honey other than texture and color.
Quite often crystallization is “misunderstood” by consumers who assume that this process happens due to poor quality, bad storage or adulteration. Actually, if honey does not crystallize for a long time it's a clear indication of dilution or adulteration.
How do I decrystallize honey?
To decrystallize honey, just heat a pot of water between 95 and 110°F, place the jar in the warm water bath. Make sure the waterline is above the level of the honey but below the lid.

Where does Dozen Jars Mayan honey come from?
Our hives are located in the Mayan jungle at the Yucatan Peninsula in México where bees pollinate several different wild flowers which gives our honey the unique, delicious flavor that you will love.
Is Dozen Jars Honey organic?
Our honey is organic, however, we are in the process of getting our label certified by the USDA.
Is it kosher?
Our honey is not yet Kosher certified.
Can I use honey instead of sugar?
Both honey and sugar add sweetness to meals and snacks. However, they have different tastes, textures, and nutritional profiles.
Sugar is higher on the glycemic index (GI) than honey, meaning it raises blood sugar levels more quickly. This is due to its higher fructose content, and the absence of trace minerals. But honey has slightly more calories than sugar, although it is sweeter, so less may be required. Both sweeteners can lead to weight gain if overused.
Does honey contain any allergens?
While honey has many natural health benefits, it’s also possible for some people to develop an allergic reaction to it. When honey is produced, it can possibly be contaminated with bee pollen and pollen from other plants and trees, including: Buckwheat, tullips, sunflowers, ecualyptus, willow, oak, hackberry, other plants. If you’re allergic to pollen, it’s possible that you may be allergic to some types of honey. In many cases, this makes pollen the allergen, rather than the honey itself.
Is Dozen Jars Mayan honey tested for quality, purity or something else?
Yes. Our honey is tested for purity, safety and quality.
Purity is tested to confirm the absence of sugar adulterants such as sugar syrups, High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) or cane sugar.
Safety measures include lead, pesticide and antibiotic residue testing.
Color, flavor and moisture testing is performed as part of our quality assurance procedures.
We produce and package our honey using good manufacturing practices per FDA standards.
What is the shelf life for honey?
Honey doesn't spoil. For commercial use, honey shelf life has been established at around two years. Honey stored in sealed containers can remain stable for decades.

Can you ship internationally?
Absolutely! International freight rates will apply. Shipping rates are calculated as a based on the weight of the products you ordered, and the shipping method selected for the region which your order will be shipped to. Local import taxes and restrictions may apply.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes, orders over $40 for shipment within the continental US obtain free shipping. If you subscribe, you will get free shipping on all your deliveries.
Do you ship to PO boxes?
We do!
How fast will my order ship?
Orders are processed and leave our warehouse within one to three business days. We do not ship on Saturday or Sunday.
What payment options are accepted by Dozen Jars?
We accept all major credit cards: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover as well as Paypal.
What are your return and refund policies?
If are not completely satisfied with our products, contact us for a refund. No questions asked. There is no deadline and there is no need to return your product. Our guarantee is permanent.

What is a Subscription and how does it work?
When you become a member, you will automatically receive our products delivered to your door every month or every quarter (your choice) and you will be automatically billed. This way you don't have to worry about running out of honey
interval of your choosing (30 or 60 days). It’s a great way to keep your hive favorites coming—while saving money!
Is there a fee to join?
There is absolutely no fee to join.
Can I customize my restock amount?
Sure! Just login to your account and change your preferences in settings.
Can I cancel my membership any time?
Absolutely! You can cancel or pause any time. Just log in to your account go to the 'Your Subscription' page and request cancellation.
Can I pause my membership if I need a break or will be away from home for a while?
Yes, you can always pause your delivery. Login to your account click ‘edit’ to change or delay your next charge date. Click done to save your settings
